True F.A.C.E. Foundation™ is a non-profit organization established uniquely for Black women and black girls to merge together and support one another in spiritual growth, business acumen development and health and wellness. We are mission driven to empower and position the women to become trailblazers in their school and/or industries and influence real change in communities, nationally and globally.
True F.A.C.E. Foundation™ entire foundation is built on the H.E.L.P™ platform . H.E.L.P™. represents Health, Economics, Leadership and Passion. If Black women entrepreneurs and black girls can get control of all these areas in their lives, they will be unstoppable.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the black community. One of every 2 Black women will become diagnosed with this disease. Heart disease is the #1 cause of death and disability in women, but Black women have a higher chance of dying. (Black Women's Health Imperative). Heart disease is only one of many others that are killing Black women. How can we thrive in our business when we are sick?
During the last five decades, the Black community has had limited access to building wealth for generations. Systematic inequality, lack of financial literacy, high default rates on student loans and employment discrimination, among other factors, have led to the racial wealth gap. (MoneyGeek). Black women in particular have it even harder due to unequal pay. It takes the typical Black woman 19 months to be paid what the average white man takes home in 12 months. (AAUW) Are we currently enrolled in a membership for black women to learn how to create a legacy or give back?
To lead is to be an example that others can follow. In others words, what is seen is what will be. Women of color constitute 9.0% of the total 535 members of Congress. Women of color constitute 4.5% of the total 311 statewide elective executives. They constitute 7.3% of the total 7,383 state legislators. (CAWP) Notice that these percentages represent women of color, not Black women alone. Black women are just a percentage of these percentages. How could we expect changes for Black women without a Black women leader and business being part of the change?
Passion is what drives a person to keep going no matter what. Failures within the government and American society have caused suffering to the Black community time and time again. One group in particular bears the heaviest burden of this long standing suffering – she is known as the Black woman. Although the struggle, Black women have definitely showed up. Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou, Rosa Parks and Michelle Obama are great examples of Black women who did not allow society to influence their self worth. (The Paladin) They were serious about thier business. We believe the one thing they all had in common was their passion. If we follow our passion, success will follow. Can our passion be identified in our career?
